Did you know that at Fuse we guarantee lens fit? That means if you get lenses from us, we make sure they fit – or you get your money back! However, that doesn’t always mean we get it right on the first try. Here are 5 main reasons why your lens fit might be off.
Your lenses are the wrong shape/size
The number one reason why your lenses might not fit is – that they aren’t the right ones! There can be tons of different sizes and variations of the same sunglasses. There are even re-releases of the same frame name! All those variations makes picking out the exact lenses you need a little tricky.
Not to worry, this is a quick fix by our team – and with a few simple confirmations we can have the correct lenses shipped to you before you know it. Our customer service team are basically experts at identifying frames – so if you’re ever unsure – just reach out for help!
Your Frames are Older
Sunglasses (especially plastic models) bend and warp overtime. Heat (think- leaving your frames in your car or by a hot window) can warp your frames. Even common behaviors like wearing your frames on your head can stretch out your shades overtime and slightly alter lens fit.
Changes in Manufacturing
Sometimes frame manufacturers change factories or countries where they are producing your shades. That switch can cause slight changes to fit and size of the frames. This can make our lens shape files outdated or even create multiple versions of the same frame that we don’t even know exist!
They used to be Prescription
Many customers with old prescription shades come to us to get non-prescription lenses to refresh their shades (like after getting lasik). What you might not realize is that when making your prescription lenses fit, labs will heat up and slightly warp your frames in order to get the lenses to fit properly. This especially happens with thicker prescription lenses.
Those slight changes can cause standard size lenses to not fit properly. But not to worry – with our custom concierge program, we’ll trace and cut lenses for your specific shades.
Non-Authentic Frame
With the popularity of huge sunglass brands (with huge price tags), also comes a market for knock off goods. These frames are often of lower quality and missing key details. However, sometimes the frames are so good you can’t even tell the difference – until it’s time for new lenses.
