How To Keep Deodorant From Melting In Car

Sharing is caring!

Yes, deodorant melt, especially if you keep it in a very hot car. This mostly happens during summer. The melting can happen in your car, which is the most common, or in other hot areas. Fortunately, there are some hacks you can use to keep your deodorant from melting and possible options available to you if you have melted deodorant.

Where Does Deodorant Melt?

Does Deodorant Melt?

One of the most common questions is this, “does deodorant melt in a hot car?”

The simple answer is YES, your deodorant can melt in your car if it is extremely hot.

This often happens in the summer and quite a lot of people have experienced this.

So, if you have just experienced this, you’re not alone.

And if you’re just wondering if you use one in your car during summer or not, then you know your answer.

Does that mean you can’t use or keep your deodorant in your car in summer?

No, because, there is a simple hack you can take advantage of.

Instead of just throwing the deodorant in the backseat, get yourself a ziploc bag and drop it inside.

With that, you can place the bag anywhere in your car.

And if you don’t have a ziploc bag, you can use any other bag that is available.

Just note that it can melt inside the bag. But that will be much easier to clean than your car seats.

What if you have leather car seats?

It might be easier but it’ll still take a significant portion of your time so it’s best to avoid the mess in the first place.

Does Deodorant Melt in the Sun?

Of course, your deodorant can melt in the sun, especially if it’s very hot.

However, it depends on where you put the deodorant.

If you know it’s hot out there and you love your deodorant, then keep it in a cool area.

If it’s in your car, you can still find a few place.

You can use the safe beside the driver side and cover it with some thick clothing material.

While this isn’t foolproof (depending on the temperature level), it can still preserve your deodorant if it’s not too hot.

How to Keep Deodorant from Melting in Car

There are two ways I know. That means there might be others, but I’m telling you the ones I know.

Here are they:

  • Keep it out of your car
  • Keep it in the safe beside the driver side and cover it with some thick clothing material. While this isn’t foolproof (depending on the temperature level), it can still preserve your deodorant if it’s not too hot.

Are there Deodorants that Won’t Melt in Car?

I’ve not come across one. But some users suggested using gel-deodorants from the likes of Old Spice.

If you can’t get one, I’ll suggest you have a locker or bag that you take with you everwhere to store the one you have.

Why Is My Deodorant Melting?

It’s melting because it’s under a high temperature. If you store it in your car, under exteme heat, without any coverage, it’ll melt.

So, take advantage of this knowledge and use anywhere cool in/outside your car.

Does Melted Deodorant Stain?

Sure, melted deodorant can stain. And there seems to not be what deoodrant can’t stain.

It can stain your car seat, white or black dress, carpet, polyester, and a few other materials.

There are a whole lot of techniques for removing deodorant stains from these material, but that’s not the purpose of this article.

The one I think might be more important for you is removing it from your car seat. If it is leather car seat, then it’ll be easier.

However, if yours is made from cloth, then that’s where the trouble is.

Here are some tips to help you:

  • Don’t leave your deodorant in your car seat if its made out of cloth. Obvious, but very important.
  • Try wiping it with hot water or use Folex on it
  • You can also try removing the stain using APC.
  • Use ammonia to remove the color of the stain if it’s very glaring
  • Try using stain remover
  • If all fail, change your car seat (which is the most expensive) but necessary if you want to keep the look of the seat.

What Temperature Does Deodorant Melt At?

A temperature of over 100 degrees Fahrenheit will melt your deodorant.

Deodorants that are alcohol-based are usually made from stearyl alcohol which will met at 140 degrees Fahrenheit.

However, your deodorant doesn’t need to reach that level for it to melt.

Moreover, car temperatures can reach up to 120 degree Fahrenheit, which makes them not just melting to deodorants but dangerous to human.

More reason why we all have ACs in our cars. You probably want to have your AC on so your car as a whole is cool.
