How Long To Bake Peach Cobbler At 375

This Peach Cobbler recipe is made from scratch with fresh peaches, sugar, spice, and everything nice! Sweet and spiced ripe peaches are baked to tender, juicy perfection on top of a homemade buttery batter that’s downright drool-worthy. It’s a summery dessert recipe that’s best served with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream!

A scoop of vanilla ice cream is placed on top of a serving of peach cobbler.

Peach Cobbler

Does anything say summer quite like homemade peach cobbler? I don’t think so! This rustic recipe is a family favorite in my home that I look forward to enjoying all summer long. Juicy, ripe peaches are finally back on grocery store shelves and there’s no better way to use them up than with this classic cobbler recipe. You’ll love the way this dessert really centers around the natural flavors of the fruit itself.

Peaches are sliced and tossed in a mix of both brown and white sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla, giving them the best warm depth to balance their vibrancy. And as much as I do love the peaches in this cobbler (they’re kind of the star of the show), the batter they’re baked with is also worth dreaming about! It’s so very buttery, subtly sweet, and really compliments the peaches in the best way.

Don’t let the phrase “from scratch” scare you away from this easy recipe! Peach cobbler is a whole lot easier to make than you may think. It’s as simple as tossing peaches together with their ingredients, mixing up the batter, and baking it all together with just the right amount of butter. Trust me, this homemade peach cobbler recipe is SO much better than anything you could buy at the store!

Peaches are placed in the middle of a casserole dish and are surrounded by batter.

How to Make Peach Cobbler

  1. Prepare. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Place the butter in a baking dish and allow it to melt in the oven.
  2. Make the batter. Whisk together the flour, white sugar, baking powder and salt. Slowly whisk in the half and half until combined.
  3. Toss the peaches. In another bowl, toss together the peaches with both brown and white sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg until fully coated.
  4. Assemble the cobber. Pour the batter all over the melted butter and do not stir. Add the peaches on top of the batter.
  5. Bake. Bake the peach cobber for 40 minutes.
  6. Enjoy! Allow the cobbler to rest for about 10 minutes so you don’t burn your mouth! Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream and enjoy.

Tips and Variations to Try

  • Peel your peaches. You can leave the peels on, but this recipe really shines when all of the peaches have been peeled. Their consistency is much better that way.
  • Don’t mix the butter. It’ll be tempting, but don’t do it! Allow the butter to fully melt, then top it off with the batter and peaches. Don’t mix it all together!
  • Frozen and canned peaches. Okay, so here’s the deal – if you have to use canned or frozen peaches, they’ll still work with this recipe! There are just a few things to keep in mind. If using frozen peaches, let them fully thaw first. Canned peaches will need to be drained and gently patted dry with a paper towel.
  • Spoon the flour. Did you know that dipping the measuring cup directly into the flour bag packs the flour in there? Packed flour means too much flour! Avoid this by spooning the flour into the measuring cup until you have as much as you need.

How long will peach cobbler stay fresh?

Once it fully cools to room temperature, you can store peach cobbler in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat your leftovers either in the microwave or back in the oven until warmed through.
