The Diamond Mini Kelly sold for $214,630 in October 2023 in our Hong Kong sale. Vintage Hermès Mini Kelly bags in lizard are truly a collector’s dream. The larger handle is easier to carry and the greater width means more actually fits in in the bag. It also comes with a detachable strap making it as versatile as the newer versions. We love the black lizard with gold hardware for day or night. This bag sold for just over $46,000 in our Hong Kong auction in October 2023.
An Alligator Hermès Mini Kelly is a must have for most Mini Kelly bag collectors. The Shiny Vert Bosphore Mini Kelly we had in our October 2023 Hong Kong sale is an elegant blue/green color with gold hardware that is both unexpected and timeless. We imagine this bag styled with black and other dark neutrals for evening and perfect with crisp white and denim for day.
While Ostrich is less popular than other exotics, in pink it is often sought after by collectors. The Fuschia Ostrich Hermès Mini Kelly with Palladium Hardware in our Hong Kong sale at 180,000 HKD low estimate is a great value versus other exotics. It is more textured than basic leather but not as much of a financial commitment as lizard, crocodile or alligator. At the low estimate it is comparable in price to a leather Mini Kelly.
We have three Hermès Mini Kelly Picnic bags in our Hong Kong sale. This is the perfect summer Mini Kelly and remains a collector favorite. Prices have varied widely based on the color, top colors can still sell for over $100,000. In October 2021, a Vert Verone Hermès Mini Kelly Picnic sold for 819,000 HKD ($106,470). In October 2023, a Bleu du Nord Mini Kelly Picnic sold for 825,500 HKD ($107,315).
