How To Use Good Head

Sucking dick is one of those things that I have to be in the mood for. It’s not just something I randomly get into at the drop of a dime. Unless I find myself indiscriminately horny, in a good mood, and my partner is nearby. When I make sex goals for myself, they are usually things I want to accomplish that make me more confident and comfortable with my sexuality or trying something new for the first time where I didn’t want to try it because I was nervous. Oral sex, however, is not something that I’m nervous or scared to engage in. I just hate gagging. Deep throating is a thing I have always wanted to become good at.

For one, if you can deep throat, you can probably also control your gag reflex a little better than most. Which would be great for me because my gag reflex is terrible. So when I got the opportunity to get my hands on the all 5 flavors of the Doc Johnson GoodHead To-Go Deep Throat Sprays, My main goal was to find out how lack of sensation will benefit me when performing oral sex.

Design and Materials

The Doc Johnson GoodHead To-Go Deep Throat Spray is designed to make going down on your penis-owning partner easier by temporarily relaxing your throat so you can deep throat them without the worry of your gag reflex randomly activating and also desensitizes the area where product is applied to. The Doc Johnson GoodHead To-Go Deep Throat spray is the smaller version of the GoodHead Deep Throat Spray which comes in a bottle with one of those throat sprayer thingys on them and carries 2oz of product, whereas the to-go version gives .33oz of product.

This product is intended to be used exclusively on penis owners. I don’t have much experience with benzocaine near the vagina, but that doesn’t sound like a good time to me anyway. I also think that the numbing effect would transfer to the vagina faster and last longer for some reason.

I am going to briefly educate you on the Pharyngeal reflex, or as we all know it: The Gag Reflex. So the gag reflex is also referred to as a laryngeal spasm which is the contraction of the back of the throat when an object like a toothbrush, for example, touches the roof of your mouth, the back of the tongue, the area around your tonsils, or the back of your throat. Now, we all know that the gag reflex is the body’s way of protecting itself from harm or injury like chocking, for example, when the throat comes into contact with a foreign object. It’s involuntary for the most part, so you can’t really stop it from happening unless you train your body to deactivate your gag reflex or get your body to be so relaxed that it doesn’t feel the need to activate the gag reflex when doing anything with your mouth and throat.

Ingredients

The active ingredients are Benzocaine and Glycerin.

Benzocaine is commonly used as an oral anesthetic that you can buy over the counter and is frequently used in dentist’s offices to relieve mouth and throat pain. Oragel and Cepacol Lozenges are popular products that have benzocaine in them.

The other ingredients are as follows: Alcohol Denat., Flavor (Aroma), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PVP, Sucralose, Water (Aqua). May Contain: Caramel, Blue 1 (CI 42090), Red 40 (CI16035), Yellow 5 (CI 19140)

The Packaging

The GoodHead To-Go Deep Throat Sprays are what I would call pocket-sized. They all have a built-in loop that can be placed on a key ring, but you can pretty much take these with you anywhere because they can fit practically anywhere. In your pocket or the small space of a bag. You name it, you can probably put it there. The sprayer dispenses a decent amount of product, and when you aim it for the back of the throat at close range, you can get a good amount of product on that area, but it will still get on the other parts of your mouth as the sprayer mists the product.

The Flavors

I just want to add in a little disclaimer right quick. Before I get into the nit and grit of my review, I just want to say that you are in no way and should never feel obligated to deep throat your partner just because they want you to. Oral sex is something that is supposed to give both partners pleasure. Pleasure in giving, pleasure in receiving. I personally think everyone who likes penises should try deep throating at least once for the experience. If you find that after that you don’t like it or it makes you uncomfortable, don’t do it again. And don’t let someone make you feel like crap for not wanting to do it on them.

My initial plans with these sprays was to make a video with me test tasting them, describing the flavors, and so on. However, I found I don’t know if taste testing these all at the same time would be helpful to anyone because of the benzocaine in them that causes a numbing effect within seconds of spraying them into my mouth. So taste testing multiple flavors at once would be kind of hard. Instead, I tasted them separately and will now tell you my thoughts on the flavors.

Mystical Mint- To me, this tasted like a less intense and sweeter version of my toothpaste. Was my least favorite of them all. Mainly because I don’t like mint-flavored anything unless it’s a breath mint or chewing gum.

Wild Cherry and Sweet Strawberry- There was very little that discerned these two flavors from one another. I guess the berry flavor is milder with the strawberry than the cherry? But in all honesty, these two flavors are the hardest to authentically encapsulate in totality when it comes to taste. I will say, however, that I prefer the cherry more than the strawberry.

Wild Watermelon- This one tasted a little bit like a watermelon jolly rancher. My favorite flavor out of all of them. It has a certain brightness to the taste that makes for a great transition into the numbing sensation.

Blue Raspberry- This one also tasted like a jolly rancher. Blue Raspberry almost always has some type of citrusy hue to it that paired with a berry flavor.

I have to say that the flavor curation was cool except for the mint. I can see why the mint was added to the flavor selection because it pairs easily with the benzocaine, but I didn’t care for it at all. My dentist uses a product called Lolli-Caine to numb areas of my mouth when he has to poke or prod something sensitive, and they come in a bunch of flavors. Pineapple is a favorite of mine, and I think it would be a great pairing with this product. In fact, if they make it, I will be the first person in line to buy it.

In Use

I’ll be honest. The first couple of times I used the GoodHead To-Go Deep Throat Sprays, I didn’t read the instructions. I figured it was a pretty straight forward process. Just spray it in your mouth and wait for it to take effect, right? Wrong. I took the watermelon flavor which was the flavor I tried first and sprayed that shit like the guys you might see on TV who use those breath refresher sprays before knocking on the door of their awaiting date. Bad Idea. At first. The instructions are as follows:

I knew better than to dive right into something new when trying it out for the first time. Excitement, however, got the best of me and what I got from that was a completely desensitized mouth, and my salivary glands turned up to a 1,000. I’ll talk about that last part later. Right now, let’s focus on the feelings. The numbing sensation wasn’t as unpleasant as I anticipated it to be. It does take a little bit of getting used to if you’re not familiar with the sensation.

What the GoodHead To-Go Deep Throat Sprays did for me was desensitize my mouth and lips (it got on my tongue, and I licked my lips, and my lips turned numb to). It got a little bit of my throat when I aimed the spray towards the back of my mouth, but my saliva mixed with the spray kinda put it more in place. The spray didn’t completely take away all feeling in my mouth. It was like a mild inebriation of the senses if you will. I could still feel texture but not as much. Like significantly less than usual.

Another thing that happened was that my saliva production was ridiculous. My mouth was literally watering. All of this, combined with some enthusiasm, made the perfect recipe for giving what I think was a great blowjob. Because my senses didn’t have to process too much texture and I had a ton of slipperiness from the extra saliva, I feel like the motion of sucking and bobbing my head up and down went a lot smoother than it would have without the spray. As for the dosage recommendation, I wouldn’t suggest spraying a ton of this stuff into your mouth if you’re not familiar with the sensation as I most likely have mentioned this before. Star with one spray, then build.

As for deep throating, I was able to get my gag reflex to relax enough for me to get the dick past my tonsils without gaging. I personally feel like I needed more than the daily recommended dose per 24 hours because I like for my whole mouth to be numb. I did have a couple times where I did gag out of anticipation of it going down my throat. My partner kind likes that gagging sound anyways and so do I, so it was a perfect balance. He loved my performance, and I was very proud of myself.

Final Thoughts

I have to say that the Doc Johnson GoodHead To-Go Deep Throat Sprays have given me a little bit of a confidence boost when it comes to giving head. I personally think a great blowjob consists mainly of saliva and enthusiasm. Enthusiasm sold separately of course. If your someone looking build your confidence in performing oral sex on a penis and wants something that takes the edge off, then I highly recommend this. While it’s not a product you should use every day in my personal opinion, it’s something I plan on purchasing with my own money when my sprays run out.
